MEKONG DELTA TO PHNOM PENH
( My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho - Chau Doc - Phnom Penh ) 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS exit Phnom penhStart: 7:40 Am
DAY 1: HCM - MY THO - BEN TRE - CAN THO ( L, D )
7:30 AM Pick you up at our office or at your hotel in District 1 before heading to My Tho city .
Enjoy the scenery and green rice paddies during the one and a half hour by air-conditioned bus. Along the way, we will visit Vinh Trang pagoda, the biggest pagoda in the Mekong delta.
Continue to My Tho, where we take a boat trip along the Mekong River, where you can see fish cages and floating houses on the river (viewing from the motorboat).
Afterward, being on a small hand-rowing boat (the main mean of transportation in My Tho & Ben Tre) and slowly cruising through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Lives from both sides of the creek can be observed escaping the hustle and bustle of the town. We disembark at a coconut island in Ben Tre heading to learn coconut candies making process from a workshop Check out the coconut candy shop and learn how to make candy, and see handicrafts made from the coconuts, Sample of candies can be tasted and enjoy a walk around the village.
Continuing the journey on the river until reaching Cồn Thới Sơn (Unicorn Island), from here taking a Motor car to reach a performance site where Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca TàiTử - A folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) can be heard and seasonal tropical fruit can be tasted (included).
Take your time snapping photos and enjoy the natural scenery before we head to the local restaurant., Before heading to lunch, passing through bee-keeping farm and enjoying honey tea, a typical Mekong house can be viewed here. Then, it is lunch time after a short walk.
12:30 PM Enjoy your lunch is set with special Vietnamese food outside under the shade of the trees. After lunch, enjoy your time relaxing, walking around the village, or perhaps going for a short bike ride around the village on the Island, then travel by ferry and bus to Can Tho, the heart of Mekong Delta. 18:30 PM will will transfer to the Cruise to have dinner, enjoy night life in Can Tho City then come back to hotel stay overnight or free time at night in Can Tho !
DAY 02: CAN THO - CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET - CHAU DOC ( B, L )
6:00 AM having breakfast, then motor boat for sightseeing the Cai Rang Floating Market which is the biggest and most colorful floating market in the Mekong Delta’s region.
In the very early morning, the river has become a busy commercial site where hundreds of boats packed with fruits, vegetables, plants and foods...line along the river and are ready for trading. Sellers will hang samples of what they are selling on the top of a long pole on their boats so that buyers can see from a distance what sellers are selling.
After the Cai Rang market, Next, you will roam through the village, see a rice noodles making shop and then The boat leads us to the fruit garden, where we can enjoy seasonal fruits and drink tea in traditional Vietnamese style.
Next, the group visited the traditional market on the shore of local people in the city center. After that, our group will go to My Khanh tourist village to have lunch.
12:00 You have lunch at My Khanh restaurant. After lunch the time for rest, you can walk in the tourist village to explore interesting games of local people.. 13:30: Then said goodbye to Can Tho city, the bus take you go to Chau Doc. Over night Chau Doc.
DAY 03: ( FISH FARM – CHAM VILLAGE – CHAU DOC MARKET – CAVE PAGODA – TRA SU FOREST ) ( B, L )
07:45 AM: We pick you up from your hotel, tranfer to the boat dock. First we take a ride cruising up to visit the floating village ( fish – farm) where you will hear about the ways of living and doing bussiness of the floating house people.
9:30 AM: Cham minority village is the next stop visited, where a towel weaving workshop is located with the weaving of the colorful traditional wears (Sarong and towels). We have a chance to know more about the Mekong Delta people who live on stilted house, especially Cham ethnic monority people 11:00 AM: back to Chau Doc market, we will visit Chau Doc market where many kind of fish sauses, cry fish for sale etc. Most of the fishes are caught from Mekong river.
11:30 AM: We have lunch in Chau Doc market.
12:30 AM: We tranfer to visit Lady Temple ( Mieu ba chua su – The God of Ba is famous in the west), tour guide will talk about Lady Temple history, it was built 200 year ago.
13:30 PM: We tranfer to the foot of Sam’s mountain. Trekking up the cave pagoda, where we can enjoy the whole of Mekong Delta, and the border line between Viet Nam and Cambodia.
15:00 PM: We start to Tra Su Cajuput forest. Wellcome to Tra Su, We will get a Motor – boat to the home to over 70 bird species, including two very rare species of Indian stork – Mycteria leucocephala and the Dieng Dieng or Anhinga Melanogaster and 11 other animal species.
17:00 PM: We back to your hotel, free time at night!
DAY 04: CHAU DOC BOAT TO PHNOM PENH ( B )
6h00: Have breakfast at hotel.
6h30: Car takes you to Vinh Xuong border gate to complete Cambodian entry procedures.
7h00: Boat departs for Phnom Penh around 1 p.m., ends tour.
